Over the last decade Alicia Ross's
work has evolved to encompass various facets of female identity
using photography, fiber, video, and installation. Raised in a
suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, Ross now splits her time between Ohio and
Texas after receiving her MFA from Rochester Institute of
Technology.
Ross's solo exhibition
Sacred_Profane debuted at Black and White Gallery, Chelsea,
New York in 2008, receiving New York Magazine's Critics' Pick.
Ross's work has been published in Flash Art Magazine
(International Edition), Saatchi Online and the Village Voice.
Her work continues to appear at art fairs such as Art Miami
and Pulse New York. Most recently,
an interview with Ross was featured on the blog of the PBS
Documentary Series Art:21.
A self-titled book was just released. It
is the first comprehensive,
chronological portfolio published of
Alicia Ross's artwork.
